In my opinion, the GPS map part seems to be floating in pip. It is like a different application from the app behind the GPS map. If you want to use fake GPS, there is also an application called 'Fake GPS location'.

There are a couple apps for pokemon go that spoof location and also hide the fact it's spoofed from other apps. You need to be rooted to use them though.
