While this seems like a Sisyphean task, if he's successful, the methods used by Twitter to eliminate bots from the platform may generate new techniques that improve the detection and identification of spam emails, spam posts and other malicious intrusion attempts. If Musk and his team can train artificial intelligence to be more effective in combating this, it may well be a boon to security practitioners everywhere," he said.

The main enemy of security is user-friendliness. They can in theory tighten up the system badly - but then regular users will suffer. the goal in such things has always been to pretend that you are a real person and that nothing will change much imo

maybe so, and I agree that more security _usually_ translates to less access and less access translates to less revenue; however, Musk is confident he can fix that and is likely looking at leveraging new bleeding edge tech that (according to the article) will have implications on the larger cyber community.
